Smartphone Reviews, Realme GT NEO 2 5G 2021

Realme GT NEO 2 5G review that is ready to dominate the mobile phone industry with affordable superior specifications.

The Realme GT Neo 2 packs internals capable of devouring heavy-duty but priced mid-range phones, using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, three 64MP camera settings, 65W charging, a 120Hz AMOLED panel, and more, classy indeed!

On paper, the Realme GT Neo 2 is one of the most exciting smartphones from Realme so far.

Design and Look

Realme presents a striking NEO Green color variant, making it the first phone with neon colors to be present in the market.

The slogan DARE TO LEAP is printed vertically from top to bottom next to the logo on the phone's rear casing.

The matte-like layer on top of a sturdy polycarbonate construction looks like a layer of glass. The curved sides are quite smooth filling the frame and provide a nice grip.

The three-camera setup is located at the top left with dual LED flash modules that are on either side of the macro sensor.  The camera hump stood out slightly from the chassis, making the device slightly wobbly on a flat surface.

At the bottom, there's a dual-SIM slot and a USB C port next to the speaker paired with an earpiece for stereo sound.

The volume rocker and power button are on both sides of the device that are easily reachable with the index finger and thumb.

Front Screen

The front of the phone is dominated by a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel that claims to have a screen-to-body ratio of 92.6 percent.

You also get a 120Hz refresh rate as the cherry on top along with confusing 600Hz touch latency.

Realme has used Samsung's Luminescent E4 Material on the panel, which provides 15 percent less power consumption and a contrast ratio of 5 million:1.

The Realme GT NEO 2 offers an exceptional viewing experience with rich colors, excellent viewing angles, and pitch black that are standard for AMOLED screens.

With a peak brightness level of 1300 nits, you won't have any problems with the outdoor display. The GT NEO 2 also comes with HDR10+ certification for color-rich OTT content.

Realme has used a tried and tested 64MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture as its main camera.

It is powered by an ultra-wide 8MP camera and a 2MP macro camera.

On the front there is a 16MP selfie camera, while the phone can also record 4K video @60fps. Some of the camera highlights in terms of real-life use include:

There's a street photography mode with features like Instant Focus, quick Zoom, and filters to get a good, sharp shot on the go.

As for low-light photography, photos look sharp with saturated colors, good focus, and slightly unbalanced exposure.

In special Night mode tends to sharpen the frame to reduce noise... Do very little to get a cleaner shot.

Pacu Kitchen

The Realme GT NEO 2 runway kitchen sector is armed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G that power its internals.

The 7nm chipset is one of the fastest to be found on the market and does an outstanding job in power efficiency and handling heavy tasks.

In the CPU throttle test, the Realme GT NEO 2 maintained up to 90 percent of its peak performance after 30 minutes.

In other benchmark terms, the phone scored 722,028 on the V9.1.7 Antutu and 3,122 on the Geekbench 5 multi-core test.

The phone certainly runs pretty well in terms of heavy-duty games and GPU-intensive tasks thanks to a combination of diamond gel material and copper heat sink to keep the device cool.

12GB of RAM which is the top configuration can actually be upgraded to 19GB using a feature called Virtual RAM.

There is also 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage for all memory needs although it cannot be expanded.

The fingerprint reader is on the phone screen, as quickly as possible, such as the face unlock mechanism.

In terms of network, I have no problem with the capabilities of 4G devices on the Noida Jio network even though users can access 5G when the right infrastructure is available.

Impressive-sounding stereo speakers that Realme included in the GT Neo 2. In addition, you also get realmeUI 2.0 based on Android 11 as software on the device.

Packed in an impressive 5,000mAh battery, the Realme GT NEO 2 is a very full one-day phone.

The Snapdragon 870 doesn't take much power from the battery and operates efficiently enough when the phone is on standby.

My usage consists of seeing a ton of OTT content but even so I get about 6 hours of screen-on time.

The phone can charge fairly quickly with SuperDart 65W technology that fully charges the phone in 42 minutes.

This phone is priced from Rp. 4.8 Million in water.
